Meet Priya

Priya McCulloch is the Founder and Principal Designer of Designs by Priya, an interior design studio specializing in custom homes, significant remodels, and whole-home furnishings throughout Arizona.

Originally from New York and Michigan, Priya earned her Bachelor's degree in Interior Design before making Arizona her home. For more than 23 years, she has built a reputation for thoughtfully guiding homeowners through one of life's most meaningful investments with clarity, creativity, and care.

Every home should reflect the people who live within it. Priya believes the most enduring interiors are shaped not by trends, but by the lives, values, and memories of the people who call them home.

She believes the greatest luxury is how a home makes you feel. It's the sense of peace you feel the moment you walk through the door—a home that feels welcoming, deeply personal, and effortlessly connected to the people who live there.

Every project begins with listening.

Before selecting a single finish, furnishing, or material, Priya takes the time to understand how her clients gather, entertain, relax, and envision living in their home for years to come. Those conversations become the foundation for every design decision that follows.

Inspired by the beauty of the Sonoran Desert, Priya creates homes that celebrate the relationship between architecture, nature, and everyday living. She is drawn to natural light, authentic materials, sculptural forms, layered texture, and spaces that feel rooted in their surroundings. Her work blurs the boundaries between indoors and out, inviting the surrounding landscape, mountain views, and ever-changing desert light to become part of the home itself.

She believes the finest materials reveal their character over time. Natural stone, warm woods, hand-applied plaster, aged metals, and artisanal finishes are layered to create interiors with depth, warmth, and authenticity. Every home is thoughtfully designed to reflect the people who live there while honoring its architecture and surrounding landscape.

Known for her calm guidance and meticulous attention to detail, Priya brings clarity and confidence to every stage of the design process. Working closely with homeowners, architects, builders, and skilled artisans, she brings every detail together into one cohesive vision.

Her work has been featured in House Beautiful, The Washington Post, Phoenix Home & Garden, Tucson Lifestyle, and other regional and national publications. As an Allied ASID member, Priya is recognized for her discerning eye, collaborative approach, and ability to create homes that are timeless, deeply personal, and designed to be beautifully lived.

Outside the studio, Priya enjoys traveling with her family, where she finds inspiration in architecture, art, and the distinctive character of the places she visits. She believes the most memorable homes are those that bring people together, enrich everyday life, and become more meaningful with time.
